2020-2021 academic year:

2021-2022 academic year:

Forms are now available online. Limited numbers of application packets will be available in the Main Office (Door #1) on Tuesday, January 19th.

Please note masks are required to enter the building.

CONTACTLESS DROP-OFF: Please leave completed applications in a sealed envelope in the drop box entitled PRESCHOOL REGISTRATION.  If you have a question please ring the bell at Door #1.

2021-2022 academic year: Applications will be accepted (entered into the lottery) from:
  • February 1 – February 5, February 8 - February 12 and February 22 - February 26, 2021: school days only from 10:00AM – 2:00PM at the Bresnahan School Main Office (Door #1). Please note no applications will be accepted during school vacation week, February 15 - 19, as offices will be closed.

Priority registration is open to current preschool students registering for their second year of preschool who are already students in the preschool program. Priority registration is between Tuesday, January  19, 2021 through Friday, January 29, 2021 only
 
Priority registration is open to siblings of students who have attended the Newburyport Public Schools Integrated Preschool Program (whether it was located at the Bresnahan or former Brown Schools). Priority registration is between Tuesday, January  19, 2021 through Friday, January 29, 2021 only.  Applications received after Friday, January 29 will be entered into the lottery.
 
The Newburyport Public Schools Integrated Preschool program does not include Kindergarten. The preschool program is run by the Department of Early Childhood and Care and Kindergarten falls under the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education; the two departments have different rules and regulations.  Siblings of students who did not attend the Newburyport Public Schools Integrated Preschool program are not eligible for priority registration. These students should apply as new students and will be entered into the lottery. 
 
On Monday, February 1st, 2021 we will accept applications for all new students.   A preschool lottery will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021 to determine if your child is accepted into one of our programs. If there are more applicants than slots available, a waiting list will be formed.  Please read the Tuition Policy and Eligibility Criteria Document (click here.)
Limited numbers of complete packets will be available at the school after Tuesday, January 19th, 2021.
 
Only complete applications will be accepted. The following documents are required to obtain a lottery number:

Please make copies of each of the following before submitting your application. 
  • Your child’s birth certificate
  • Your child’s most recent health record including lead test, immunization and physical (or MA Health Form)
  • Proof of Newburyport Residency (must be one of the following: utility bill, ex: water bill, electricity bill, cable bill, mortgage/lease agreement)
 
 
Upon receipt of a complete application you will receive a lottery number and your child will be entered into the preschool lottery which will be drawn on March 4, 2020 at 10:00 AM at the Superintendent’s Office-70 Low St, Newburyport. The public is welcome to attend the lottery. Lottery results will be posted online no later than March 6, 2020.  Notification of your child’s application status will be mailed home in early-mid March.
